The Games

Picture
Milwaukee Bucks @ Miami Heat - Game 2
It's hard to see how the Bucks can even get close to heat in game two, Both Jennings and Ellis put up decent numbers in game one yet if Larry Sanders gets into any foul trouble the Bucks are virtually done.

Expect another bold showing from the Heat in game two as they are well rested heading into these playoffs and back to playing small ball against a bucks team that has no answers.

Best Bets
Miami Heat -14.5 @ $1.91
Value Bets
Miami Heat -14.5 & Over 197.5 @ $3.65

Picture
Golden State Warriors @ Denver Nuggets - Game 2
Golden State came agonizingly close to clinching game one against the Nuggets on the weekend and now head into game 2 with the loss of David Lee for the season. Bogut will need to come up huge in game 2 if the Warriors are going to compete here and with Faried returning tomorrow the match ups don't look great for the Warriors.

The Nuggets to cover the line with a safe bet here, only a Curry big game will keep the Warriors in it but Igoudala should prevent that well enough.4

Best Bet
Denver Nuggets -7.5 @ $1.91

Picture
Boston Celtics @ New York Knicks - Game 2
In what was a close game until the Celtics started to turn the ball over in the 4th quarter which allowed the Knicks to run away with the game.  It's easy to overreact to game one but the Celtics need more help from their bench and whether Jeff Green can perform as well as he did in game one is highly questionable.

The Knicks meanwhile are terrific offensively and are taking advantage of Melo being one on one for the majority of the game, The Biggest shock of game one was how terrific Kenyon Martin was who was out performing Tyson Chandler.

Doc Rivers will get this team firing for game two as this is their chance to pinch a game away from home, If Terry, Crawford. Lee and Bass provide some points they are well in this game.

Best Bets
Boston Celtics +6.5 @ $1.91

Value Bets
Boston Celtics +6.5 & Under 185.5 @ $3.60

Only a few days away from the NBA Playoffs and it's time we had a look at the best betting opportunities that are currently out there and who we think will come out on top.

The East

Picture
The Eastern conference has come under considerable criticism throughout the season as primary being known as weaker conference with many people believing Miami may walk straight into the NBA finals without a realistic threat.

Miami have been dominant this season in setting the 2nd highest winning streak in NBA history and are heading into the playoffs extremely rested with Lebron, Wade, Bosh and even Chalmers getting time off to rest up minor injuries. The only time the Heat look vulnerable is when Wade isn't performing at 85% or more, if he stays healthy they are almost a lock to come out of the east.

Carmelo Anthony and the Knicks have led the chasing group on the back of a 13 game win streak late in the season. The Knicks match up against Miami well and will likely push them to a 6 game series if they can get past the early rounds, though there is every chance that JR Smith could go back to playing like himself and ruin the progress this team has made.

The Pacers have to be considering another leading challenger in the east as we saw last year when they got physical with Miami and even took a game off the Heat at home. The problem is for the Pacers whilst they have improved this year with Paul George emerging as a genuine star, Danny Granger has also taking a backwards step since returning from injury and the fact their series against the Heat last year was when Bosh was injured.

The east will likely be a Pacers/Knicks v Heat conference finals, outside of them the ex factor in the playoffs are the Brooklyn Nets as they are a team that would match up against the Heat quite well with Brook Lopez dominating the paint. Deron Williams has finally returned to form at the right time of the year and although it took some time a pecking order has been established with this side.

The Chicago Bulls will create problems for any side they come up against in the playoffs as Thibodeau will have the Bulls playing ugly to produce wins, Without Derrick Rose they aren't a winning prospect but they will push teams into a 6/7 game series.

The Hawks are the same old Hawks, They will push the Pacers in their series but will again be bound for another 1st round exit.

The Celtics are the sleeper of the playoffs, by taking 7th seed as expected they will look forward to taking on Knicks as history shows Paul Peirce and the Celtics are dominate against them oh... and Garnett knows how to get under the skin of Carmelo(Honey Nut Cheerios) If the Celtics get past the Knicks they avoid Miami int he 2nd round and have every opportunity in a series where Doc Rivers can work out their opponents.

The Bucks will be lucky if they get one game off the heat in the first round.

East Betting Options
The Heat are $1.36 to come out of the east which is the right price, but not a price worth backing. At this stage the best option is to wait and see with the Heat, Drama always unfolds in the playoffs and if their price drifts in the NBA championship market you pounce.

The Pacers(12-1) should get past the Hawks with some ease and proved last year they can take games off the Heat, The Celtics are value and have a history of dominance over the Knicks which may see them be a surprise packet of the playoffs @ 21-1(to win east) Regardless I would focus on series to series bets with the east.

The West

Picture
The west unlike the east is viewed as an open conference, last years champions Oklahoma City Thunder and runners up San Antonio Spurs are considered the class of the the conferences but not without their problems.

The Thunder are in the battle with the Spurs for the number 1 seed and head into the playoffs without the ex factor they had in last years playoffs with James Harden coming off their bench. The Thunder look beatable this year and will be relying on the class of Durant and "good" Russell Westbrook to get them into the finals. Ibaka's production has dropped off since the start of the season and he will need to show a bit more if this team is any chance to take out the title.

The San Antonio Spurs meanwhile are facing the uphill battle to get Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili fully fit to make a run in these playoffs. Whilst the Spurs are one of the deepest sides in the NBA it meant nothing last year when the Thunder ran off 4 straight to eliminate them from the playoffs. Kawhi Leonard and Tiago Splitter's devolpment will be crucial to see how far they have come in the last 12 months and if the Spurs are fully fit they are genuine contender.

After the Nuggets impressive winning streak they have climbed up the ladder and locked themselves in as the 3rd seed. Outside of the Spurs they would have the next deepest roster/rotation in the NBA. The Gallinari injury will hurt the Nuggets playoff chances and if Ty Lawson fails to be healthy for the playoffs the Nuggets won't be going far. A lot of the responsibility will fall onto Iguodala who whilst has been outstanding defensively this year is likely not enough for the Nuggets to take out the west.

Clipper nation has been enjoying it's time as the best team in Los Angeles but whether they can be a force in the playoffs is another question. Chris Paul will take the Clippers on his back into this post season but I just can't imagine the Clippers getting past the Spurs or the Thunder in the 2nd round, they will go to war in a 1st round series against the Grizzlies and may be a surprise 1st round exit.

The Memphis Grizzlies come into the playoffs as the team no one wants to play, Memphis create match up problems for most teams with Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol able to dominate the paint on both sides of the ball. The team actually looks stronger post Rudy Gay's trade to Toronto and the only concern is their lack of three point shooting.

Golden State Warriors have enjoyed a good year but struggle too much on the defensive end to make a legitimate run of the playoffs, the failure to get Andrew Bogut fit and David Lee being one of the worst defensive players in the league makes the Warriors a hard sell to any punter. None the less the Warriors will still provide much watch games and Steph Curry is a must watch player right now who may test the Nuggets who are suffering key injuries themselves.

The Lakers without Kobe are hard to see getting past the 1st round, but they have run into the struggling Spurs which does provide some hope. Pau Gasol is finally returning to form as one of the best big men in the game and if Dwight contributes the Lakers will be competitive against the Spurs.

The Houston Rockets have had a outstanding year considering they traded for James Harden only 3 days before the season started and Harden has quickly established himself as a star. They get the Thunder 1st up, which will see their season end early but it will provide must watch games as they won't die wondering.

Best Betting Options
Back the Grizzlies at $17 (to win the west) with a possibility of laying off after if they can get past the Clippers, as they will have the line ups to trouble the Thunder.

If the Spurs are fully fit they are virtually a 50/50 chance against the Thunder but at a better price, so the best option is to back them @ $7 to take out the NBA title, as they will create more trouble for the Heat than the Thunder can.

A fantastic night for punters and a great way to start the weekend with all 3 suggested bets getting the goods.

Miami Heat @ Oklahoma City Thunder

As we head into the All Star break we are blessed with another fantastic matchup for the Thursday night TNT double header. The championship was decided between these two teams last season and throughout the new year not much has changed. Lebron James is playing at a ridiculous level right now shooting 60% throughout his last 6 games whilst scoring an average of 30 points a game, he has been helped by wade and in particular Chris Bosh who was outstanding against Portland on Tuesday.

The Thunder meanwhile are 2nd in the west behind the ever consistent Spurs and return home coming off a tough 15 point loss to the Utah Jazz who are quite frankly underrated around the league and are extremely strong at home. Durant has stepped up again this year and the match up against Lebron makes this game a must watch and a potential championship preview.

Lets ride with the heat here, they are the best team in the league and will want to head into the all star break on the back of a win. The Thunder rarely lose two games in a row but against the best side in the league the value lies against them.

Best Bets
Miami Heat + 4.5 @ $1.91

Value Bets
Miami Heat Win @ $2.75

Picture
Los Angeles Clippers @ Los angeles Lakers
The battle of LA renews itself in part two of the double header and it makes for an interesting encounter.
The circus that is the Lakers will be desperate to take down the city rival Clippers who are playing there second game at home coming off a tough road trip which saw them lose Pau Gasol for the next 6 weeks.

Dwight Howard showed glimpses of the 2009 unstoppable Dwight against the Suns when he was the focus of the Lakers offense as they ran everything through him against the Suns. It will be interesting to see which Kobe Bryant will turn up in this game, which clearly effects the way the Lakers perform.

The Clippers have finally returned to form themselves with Chris Paul finally getting his knees back to health which has provided two solid wins over the eastern conference New York Knicks and Philadelphia 76ers.

Expect a tight contest for 3 quarters the Lakers will push the Clippers in this game but in the end they will fall short. The market gives the Lakers too much respect in this game considering what the Clippers have done this year.

Miami Heat @ Indiana Pacers
The Heat travel to the Pacers to start their a 6 game road trip tonight and after handling the Wizards on Sunday. Miami will be keen to start their trip off in the right fashion after their season struggles with rebounding. The Pacers meanwhile have had a 2 day break coming off a back to back and look to be a team on the up at the moment, The Pacers currently have the 3rd best defense in the league but have struggled offensively being the 2nd worst team in the league when it comes to scoring, so you can rest assure Pacers games aren’t pretty.

Take the Heat to cover the line here, on the road they provide great value and will want to start the stretch strong.

Best Bets
Miami Heat -3.5 @ $1.95

Los Angeles Lakers @ Houston Rockets
It hasn't been the season the Lakers have hoped for and the struggles look set to continue when they travel to Houston Tuesday. With both big men(Dwight Howard & Pau Gasol) out for the game against a Rockets team that has been improving throughout the season and the combination of James Harden and Jeremy Lin now looking solid. It's hard to see the Lakers taking the win here, Kobe will put up a likely 35 points game to give the Lakers some hope but if the Rockets want to make the playoffs this year, these are the games you have to win.

Best Bets
Houston Rockets Win @ $1.38(Multi Value)
Houston Rockets with the line(not out yet, around 5.5 ->8.5) @ $1.91

Golden State Warriors @ Detroit Pistons
Best Bet
Golden State Warriors Win @ $1.92 - WIN

Golden state won 104-97 to cap off a great day.

Minnesota Timberwolves @ Boston Celtics
After handling the 76ers in Philadelphia yesterday the Timberwolves now travel to Boston to take on the Celtics tonight who are boosted by the return of Rajon Rondo coming off his 2 game suspension. Boston will be out to put in a good performance to start their 3 out of 4 home game stretch and the edge should go to the Celtics here as the Timberwolves 3 point shooting has been poor this year.

Best Bet
Boston Celtics 1-10 @ $2.75

Golden State Warriors @ Detroit Pistons
The Warriors travel to Detroit to take on the Pistons after a disappointing showing against Orlando on Monday, The warriors will be keen to start their tough road stretch with a victory as it is one of their toughest trips for the season. Detroit are always competitive at home and have won their last five on the back of some solid individual performances. The Warriors Steph Curry has been progressing well after a shaky start to the season and if he can stay fit the Warriors will be a tough team to compete with. After learning of the disappointment about star Australian Andrew Bogut being out indefinitely for the warriors I think they will be mentally better prepared now knowing they need to lift without one of their key players and will be keen to impress. How long that mental state lasts for is another question but head to head tomorrow they are a good bet.

Best Bet
Golden State Warriors Win @ $1.92
